Part of a series of short documentaries continuing the use of the long take, where I experimented with nonlinear narrative structures and methods of editing to capture the multiple paces of life situated within a physical location and to impress upon the spectator a “memory” of an urban setting.
2007-2008 Short Film- Overloaded (Director and Editor)
Premiered at 2007 Stanford Film Festival
A roadtrip docudrama informed by Neorealist sensibilities that juxtapose urban and rural spatial perception. Filmed a real long haul trucker’s life over the road from California to Utah. Two years in the making and involved a fifteen person team with a mix of professionals and students.
2007 Short Documentary- Silicon Ranch (Director, DP, and Editor, on DV)
Filmed at Milpitas, CA for the Stanford Film Productions class, a documentary that explored the intersections of rural and suburban life in the Silicon Valley.
2006 Experimental Short- Shades of Revolution (Director, DP, and Editor, on DV)
Shot in Taiwan and the Bay Area, an experimental short on the phantasmagoric experience of mountain biking, using special effects and fast paced editing to explore how alienation is breached through a recreational appropriation of urban spaces.
